I have been at Washington Junior High since 2003 and absolutely love working here.
I am looking forward to another great year with great students!

We will be continuing the iLearn program that was implemented last year.
Students will generally get 30 minutes of iLearn time in the classroom each week and are expected to get an additional 30 minutes of iLearn time outside of the classroom.
Computer labs are available for student use before and after school.

We have new textbooks this year which are interactive.

Seccessful math students are effective problem solvers, can accurately communicate mathematical ideas and concepts, and have a solid foundation in basic arithmetic skills.

Additionally, during the upcoming year your child will use a varity of manipulative and problem solving strategies to establish algebraic thinking skills to solve problems.

A variety of teaching methods will be used to explore math concepts such as small group activities, large group instruction, learning centers, and independent practice.

Regardless of the concept being taught, the focus will be on problem solving as we strive to prepare all students for the depth and rigor of the new STAAR test.
